The Chandigarh Congress has expressed concern at the “tardy” investigation into the unnatural death of a prominent member of legal fraternity, Neeraj Hans, last week on the premises of District Courts in Chandigarh.

In a statement, Rajiv Sharma, chief spokesperson of the Chandigarh Congress, stated that it was unfortunate that despite the police having access to evidence from CCTV and many eyewitnesses, the investigation had not made any noteworthy headway in past eight days. The advocates of District Courts had suspended all work for many days demanding a speedy and honest investigation into the unfortunate incident but it had no effect on the police, he said, adding that such lackadaisical attitude of the police is creating a feeling of insecurity among people.
