The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today filed a chargesheet in a Mohali court against 16 accused in the multi-crore land grab case at Nabha village of Zirakpur. The prosecution sanction against Punjab Police DSP Kuljinder Singh, Sub registrar (retd) Kuldeep Singh and retired tehsildar Harminder Singh Sidhu in the case is also awaited.

A case under Sections 120-B, 452, 323, 506, 427, 120-B, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Coded was registered at the Zirakpur police station on March 10, 2022, in this connection.

According to the case, accused Rajinder Kumar and Sarabjit Singh, established a fraudulent trust in the name of Guru Nanak Vidya Bhandar Trust Daryaganj, New Delhi, leading to a dispute of eight acre land worth Rs 100 crore.

Petitioner Guru Nanak Vidya Bhandar Trust through its manager Harjit Singh had sought the transfer of the case to the CBI or the SIT under a senior IPS officer.

During the investigation, the High Court handed over the case to the CBI after which a chargesheet was filed on Tuesday.
