Ladakh L-G visits Nyoma, Durbuk subdivisions

Lieutenant-Governor of Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur on Monday visited the Durbuk and Nyoma subdivisions of Changthang.
He was accompanied by Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Leh, Gyal P Wangyal and Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Sachin Kumar. Mathur was presented the ceremonial guard of honour on his arrival at Durbuk and Nyoma subdivisions.
At Durbuk, the Lt-Governor was received by Executive Councillor, Education, LAHDC, Leh, Konchok Stanzin, Councillor, Tangtse, Tashi Namgial Yakzee, SDM, Durbuk, sarpanchs, nambardars, and chairman, Block Education Committee.
At Nyoma, various delegations of Councillor Gyurmet Dorjey, BDC chairpersons, sarpanchs, nambardars, religious representatives met the Lt-Governor with their representations.
The issues raised at both places included Pashmina development, road and bridge connectivity, communication, health, education, communication, tourism, irrigation, drinking water, etc.
The Lt-Governor gave a patient hearing to each delegation at both places and assured of looking into issues for suitable a follow-up.
In his address, Wangyal said unlike previous times, developmental works could be carried out without paucity of funds. Later, the Lt-Governor and the CEC also visited the Primary Health Centre at Nyoma. —TNS
