Ladakh L-G meets FM Sitharaman

Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Brig BD Mishra (retd) met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Tuesday. During the meeting, the L-G raised the issue of Union government's decision to revise the budget allocation for the capital component to Ladakh for the current Financial Year 2024-25.

He informed Sitharaman of the decision's repercussions, which could impact the development works, especially the ongoing project works of Leh and Kargil hill councils. The Finance Minister assured to look into the matter.

Brig Mishra also met the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju. He discussed several minority affairs-related issues concerning the people of Ladakh with the Minister, including scholarships for students of Ladakh.
