KU to organise International Gita conference from Dec 5
Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva on Tuesday said the university would organise the three-day ninth International Gita Conference on the theme ‘Shrimad Bhagawad Gita and Sustainable Ecosystem' from December 5 to 7 in collaboration with the Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB).
The Vice-Chancellor said 628 research papers would be presented during 12 technical sessions making the conference a Mahakumbh of research perspectives on Shrimad Bhagawad Gita. The conference will provide a platform for spiritual reflection and discourse on finding solutions for sustainable ecosystem.
Director, International Gita Conference, Prof Tajinder Sharma said vice-president, Research and Economic Development, State University of New York, Dr Venu Govindaraju and Brahmrishi Surindre Tewarie from Netherlands would be speakers from abroad and other renowned speakers from India would participate in the conference.
Technical Sessions on various topics, including 'Vision of self-reliant and developed India in the Bhagavad Gita', 'Importance of Gita in ecological justice', 'Relevance of Shrimad Bhagawad Gita in environmental governance', 'Nature and environment in Shrimad Bhagavad Gita', 'Ecology-conscious social work practice: Adoption of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita principles', 'Exploring the knowledge of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita: Repository of sustainable nutrition, health and well-being', 'Shrimad Bhagavad Gita: An inspiration for sustainable tourism', and 'Calm mind and pleasant environment: In the Perspective of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita' will be organised during the conference.
