Krushna Abhishek says he was making Rs 3 lakh per day on Comedy Circus, fans wonder what Kapil Sharma was paid
Chandigarh, March 6
Krushna Abhishek, known for his comedy acts, has revealed what motivated him to enter this space.
In a recent interview with Bharti TV, the seasoned comedian said that he signed Sony TV’s Comedy Circus only for money. He said that he signed up for Comedy Circus in 2007 solely for the lucrative paycheck of Rs 1.5 lakh per episode. He was so in awe of the fact that he would be making Rs 3 lakh per day because they were shooting two episodes in a day.
This revelation has fans wondering what Kapil Sharma would be getting given his popularity from the show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ as it quickly became one of the most watched show on the Indian television.
However, Krushna revealed that the show’s producers were particularly interested in him because he was the nephew of Bollywood icon Govinda.
Krushna recalled the stark difference, noting that while he received Rs 3 lakh per film working in Bhojpuri cinema, it required a month-long commitment to shoot for the entire movie.
Having gained initial fame through his appearance on the reality dance show ‘Nach Baliye’ alongside his wife Kashmera Shah, Krushna added that he had no prior experience in comedy or theatre.
Krushna’s talent and comedic timing with Sudesh Lehri won them four seasons of Comedy Circus. Since then, Krushna has become a familiar face on television, with his recent appearance as Sapna Didi on Kapil Sharma’s show on Sony TV.
