Local golfer Krish Chawla (16) claimed tied-2nd spot during the National IGU Western India Junior Boys Golf Championship at Poona Golf Club. His impressive scores of 73, 71, 69, and 72 over the four-day tournament showcased his skills against over 100 competitors from across the country in the Under-18 A and B combined category.

Entering the final round in second place and three strokes behind the leader, Chawla maintained his composure and clinched the tie for second with a crucial birdie on the last hole.

Earlier this year, he also earned recognition as the second runner-up in the National IGU NCR Junior Boys Golf Championship in Noida and triumphed in the Northern India Junior Boys Golf Championship at Chandigarh Golf Club.

A student of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, Krish trains under renowned golf coach Jesse Grewal at Chandigarh Golf Academy. Last month, he claimed third position in the combined A and B category in the National IGU NCR Junior Boys Golf Championship in Noida.

This achievement granted him a coveted one-year amateur card on the national circuit.
