The Nakodar City police have registered a DDR in connection with the death of a nine-month-old child at the Nakodar Civil Hospital on Friday.

Investigating Officer (IO) Dilbag Singh said the deceased had been identified as Armaan, a resident of Sango Wal village falling under the Mehat Pur police station.

The parents of the deceased and some other relatives staged a dharna in front of the hospital alleging negligence on part of the medical staff, which led to the death of the child. Nakodar DSP Sukhpal Singh pacified the protestors and said appropriate action would be taken after the post-mortem report.
