Jatindera Green Field School, Sudhar, lifted the winners’ trophy in football in the boys’ U-17 section in the ongoing block-level games of third edition of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan being organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the aegis of Sports and Youth Services, Punjab, at different venues across the district on Thursday.

Competitions for 14 blocks are being held in athletics, football, kho-kho, kabaddi, volleyball in different age groups.

In the matches, played at GHG Khalsa College ground, Sudhar, Government High School, Abuwal, secured the second position while Government Senior Secondary School, Hissowal, finished at the third place.

In kabaddi (national style) for boys’ U-17, Gag Kalan village beat BBSB, Sidhwan Khurd, to win the title and in the circle style, Sadarpura village emerged winners while Sidhwan Bet secured the runners-up trophy.

At Sidhwan Bet, in athletics (girls’ U-17), Armaandeep Kaur, Avneet Kaur and Manpreet Kaur secured the first three positions, in 800m race, Simran Kaur romped home victorious, followed by Kirandeep Kaur at the second spot while in long jump, Manjot Kaur finished ahead of others to bag the top position while Arshdeep Kaur and Amandeep Kaur finished at the second and third position, respectively.

At AS College Stadium, Khanna, in shot put event (men 31-40 years), Luvpreet Singh came out triumphant and Savesh Grover secured the second position while in the girls’ 21-30 years section, Mansi Punj bagged the first position and Prachi stood second. —
