Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal launched a campaign on Monday to highlight the alleged “failures and inaction” of the Delhi Government and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs. The initiative began with protests in the Model Town and Shalimar Bagh constituencies, drawing thousands of BJP workers and residents.

The campaign kicked off with a massive demonstration in the Model Town constituency against MLA Akhilesh Tripathi. Over 1,500 BJP workers gathered near Gurdwara Nanak Piao at 10.30 am, raising slogans such as “Bijli pani de na sake jo, woh sarkar nikammi hai” and “Vidhayak badlo halat badlo”.

Khandelwal accused the MLA and the AAP government of neglecting public grievances. “The people of Delhi are struggling for basic amenities such as electricity, water, roads and cleanliness. The Aam Aadmi Party’s government and its MLAs are ignoring these issues. It’s time to expose their inefficiency to the public,” he said.

Residents and BJP leaders also voiced their frustrations, citing unaddressed problems in infrastructure and basic services.

In the evening, the campaign moved to Haiderpur and Shalimar Bagh, targeting local MLA Vandana Kumari. The protest, led by Khandelwal, saw thousands of BJP workers marching through the area, demanding accountability from the legislator.

“The AAP government’s track record in providing solutions to everyday problems is abysmal,” Khandelwal said during the Shalimar Bagh demonstration. “Residents are forced to live with poor roads, irregular water supply and overflowing garbage, while their elected representatives remain unresponsive,” he added.

Slogans like “Delhi ka hua bura haal, Kejriwal ka dekho kamal” echoed through the neighbourhoods as BJP workers distributed pamphlets outlining alleged shortcomings of the AAP MLA.

Khandelwal said this was just the beginning of his campaign to hold AAP MLAs accountable. “I will visit every Assembly constituency in my parliamentary area to bring their failures to light. The people of Delhi deserve better governance, and I will ensure their voices are heard,” he said.
