Congratulating party workers, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday termed the party’s win in three out of four seats in the Punjab bypolls a “semi-final”, asserting that the party is on course for another historic mandate in Delhi.

Kejriwal said the people of Punjab have chosen AAP for the second time, which shows that it is doing good work.

“Over the past decade, we have established the Delhi model of governance that focuses on making life easier for the common man,” he said.

The party won the Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak and Chabbewal in the byelections. These three seats were previously held by the Congress.

Kejriwal said, “Today’s results are not just significant for Punjab, but also for the upcoming Delhi elections. I would call them the semi-final for Delhi.”

Kejriwal was joined by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, senior AAP leader Satyendar Jain and Rajya Sabha MPs Dr Sandeep Pathak and Raghav Chadha.

The former Delhi CM said the win signifies the people’s unwavering faith in AAP’s governance model.

“In 2022, the people gave the Aam Aadmi Party 92 seats out of 117 in Punjab. Today, we hold 94 seats in Punjab. The most significant aspect is that the BJP lost its deposits in all three seats,” Kejriwal said.

“Over the past decade, we have established the Delhi model of governance that focuses on making life easier for the common man,” he added.

He further remarked that as these achievements spread across the country, people traveling between Delhi and Punjab began noticing the development in Delhi and felt that Punjab should experience the same.

“In 2022, the people of Punjab chose us, and the same development work started there. Today, the people of Punjab have reaffirmed this work by voting for us again,” he added.
