Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was reportedly attacked at a rally in Vikaspuri on Friday. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders have alleged BJP’s involvement.

AAP leaders claimed that BJP "goons" orchestrated the assault, accusing Delhi Police of failing to intervene.

Delhi CM Atishi alleged that BJP wanted to harm Kejriwal after they could not silence him in jail. “I want to tell the BJP that if anything happens to Kejriwal, the people of Delhi will take revenge … I want to challenge BJP that whether you put him in jail or attack him, you cannot defeat him in the elections”, Atishi wrote on X after the alleged attack.

In a post on X, AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “When ED, CBI, and jail did not work, now BJP people are getting Arvind Kejriwal attacked. If anything happens to Kejriwal, BJP will be directly responsible for that.”

Refuting the allegations, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said the locals of Vikaspuri had gone to complain about the supply of dirty water in the area during Kejriwal’s padyatra. “When people complained of dirty water, Kejriwal got offended. After living in ‘Sheesh Mahal’, his habit of walking in the streets has gone, and when people ask questions, AAP leaders are trying to project it as an attack,” he said. — With PTI inputs
