Kala Utsav: Vibrant showcase of talent at GMSSS-16
The Kala Utsav held at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, on Tuesday was a grand success, offering students from Cluster No. 4 an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents. Five schools participated in this annual celebration of culture, art and creativity.
The event featured a variety of artistic disciplines, including vocal and instrumental music, dance, visual arts, theatre and storytelling. In the vocal music category, students gave enthralling performances, blending traditional and contemporary styles, highlighting the region's rich cultural heritage.
Dance performances, both classical and folk, captivated the audience with vibrant costumes and synchronised movements, showcasing the cultural diversity of the participants. The visual arts competition focused on painting, where students addressed themes like social issues and environmental awareness, impressing the judges with their creativity.
The theatre competition featured engaging dramatic performances, including a well-received rendition of Mirza Sahiba, with students excelling in expression, dialogue delivery and stage presence. The storytelling event also saw young narrators capture the audience's attention with their vivid storytelling abilities.

Event highlights cultural diversity
Students from five schools under Cluster 20 participated in the Kala Utsav event. The festival provided a platform for students to exhibit their skills and creativity. Special training teacher Prabha Bhainsora said participants presented diverse cultural art forms, reflecting the rich heritage of India. The event featured soulful vocal performances, captivating dance recitals, thought-provoking theatre acts, stunning visual art displays, engaging traditional storytelling sessions, recognising excellence.
To encourage and motivate students, prizes were distributed among best performers in each category. The winners were judged on their creativity, technique, and overall impact.
The event fostered a sense of community, allowing students to learn from each other's unique perspectives and artistic expressions. Government Senior Secondary School, Mauli Jagran, and Cluster 20 authorities organised the event.
