The Kaithal police intensified vigil to check traffic rule violators in the district. It has issued a total of 3,072 challans in November, which also includes 181 impounded vehicles. A fine of Rs 27,77, 450 was collected during the month.

Giving details, the police spokesperson said following the directives of Superintendent of Police (SP, Rajesh Kali, a special team led by traffic SHO Sub-inspector Raj Kumar intensified the crackdown on violators.

The police also focused on people who modified bullet motorcycles to create loud noise, causing disturbance in the area. In November alone, 144 challans were issued against such motorcycles equipped with modified silencers.

He further said 406 challans were issued to vehicles without number plates, while 176 challans for land discipline violations, 140 challans for overspeeding, 685 challans for driving on the wrong side, 204 challans for not wearing seat belts, 10 challans for drunk driving, 11 challans for using mobile phone while driving, 15 challans for vehicles with black film, 28 challans for underage driving. The spokesperson emphasised that these steps were aimed at ensuring public safety and reducing road accidents.

In his message, Kalia stressed the importance of following traffic rules to prevent road accidents and safeguard lives. “When commuters neglect traffic rules, they not only endanger their own lives but also put others, including their families, at risk. Our aim is not to issue fines but to save lives and minimise the loss of life and property caused by the road accidents,” the SP added.

Kalia urged citizens to be responsible drivers and said adherence to traffic rules was essential for the safety of oneself and one’s family. He reiterated the commitment of police to reduce accidents and protect lives on the road.
