Sikh devotees travelling back from Hazur Sahib at Nanded in Maharashtra to Adampur airport in Punjab were a harassed lot as the plane carrying them dropped them at the Ghaziabad airport with no concrete information about resumption of further journey tonight.

Those suffering agony due to unconcern of the authorities of the airline, included elderly persons, women and children, besides senior religious, social and political leaders.

Residents from various localities falling under the Payal subdivision in Ludhiana district regretted that their flight that was scheduled to take off from Hazur Sahib at 10.20 am, but it took off five hours late at 3.30 pm. They said passengers destined to reach Adampur airport were dropped at Ghaziabad airport in the evening.

According to former Chairman, Bant Singh Daburji, and former police officer Gurpreet Singh Gill, the stranded passengers were more upset due to alleged irresponsible behaviour of the airline staff, which neither explained the exact reason behind the interruption of their journey nor allowed them talk to any senior functionary of the airport.

“Condition of the airline is so bad that junior staff are neither allowing us to meet some senior functionary nor giving us information about the reason behind the interruption in our air travel. There are some passengers who have to catch flight for America from Amritsar in the night,” said a passengers in a video message that went viral in the region.

Giani Pinderpal Singh, Baba Major Singh Kar Sewa wale and former SSP Kesar Singh were among the dignitaries who were worried about keeping commitment about their prefixed assignments.
