CET group D results out
Chandigarh: Following the High Court’s judgment dated May 31, the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has declared the revised result of CET group D phase-1. The merit list has been prepared solely based on the candidate’s CET scores, without giving the benefit of socio-economic criteria marks. The exam was conducted on October 21 and 22, 2023, wherein 8.6 lakh candidates had appeared and 4.3 lakh qualified. TNS
5 IPS officers promoted
Chandigarh: The state government has promoted five IPS officers of the 2006 batch from Deputy Inspector General of Police rank to Inspector General of Police with immediate effect. As per a notification issued by the Home Department dated July 4, the officers are Shashank Anand, Ashwin Shenvi, Arun Singh, Ashok Kumar and Om Prakash. TNS
Ex-MLA leaves INLD, joins BJP
Chandigarh: Former MLA from the Radaur Assembly constituency and Indian National Lok Dal leader Shyam Singh Rana joined the BJP in the presence of CM Nayab Saini on Friday. Two dupe 25 on promise of jobs
Kurukshetra: The Kurukshetra police have booked two persons for allegedly duping 25 persons of Rs 1.25 crore on the pretext of providing government jobs. A case has been registered against Gurcharan Singh and Rajesh Kumar of Kurukshetra. In his complaint to the police, Jaipal of Karnal said he had paid the amount for employment of his sons Vicky, Sunny and Mukesh, 22 relatives and neighbours. The accused had charged Rs 5 lakh for each person. “The accused also gave us fake joining letters. When the letters were found to be fake, he refused to return the money,” said the complainant. tns
Man held with 1,320 capsules
Yamunanagar: A team of the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau has nabbed a man with 1,320 capsules of banned drugs. The accused has been identified as Sukhwinder Kumar of Gadhaula village of Yamunnagar district.
