Youth enters house, snatches phone from injured man

In a daring daylight snatching, two bike-borne miscreants snatched a phone from a man sitting inside his house in Tara Singh Avenue, Basti Bawa Khel.

The incident, which took place on Monday afternoon, only gained attention when a CCTV footage went viral, showing how the snatchers carefully planned the crime after conducting a recce of the area.

The victim, who had recently undergone surgery for a broken leg, was sitting in his veranda when the snatchers entered. His limited mobility, due to surgery, made him an easy target for the criminals.

The CCTV footage reveals that the snatchers first approached the victim under the guise of enquiring about his well-being before leaving. They returned again and during the third visit, one of the men entered the house on foot while the other waited outside on a bike. The one inside quickly snatched the victim’s phone and fled, with his accomplice readying for a swift getaway.

Despite the victim’s son’s attempt to chase them, they managed to escape. The police from Basti Bawa Khel are investigating the case and analysing the CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
