YAD vice-chief joins AAP
State vice-president of the Youth Akali Dal Ranjit Singh Fateh joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday, giving a boost to the party’s preparations for the upcoming Phagwara Municipal Corporation (MC) elections.
The announcement came during a meeting of senior AAP leaders from the Phagwara Assembly constituency held at the local rest house.
It was chaired by constituency in-charge Joginder Singh Mann and attended by Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, AAP MP from Hoshiarpur and the party’s appointed in-charge for the municipal elections.
Mann said: “Inclusion of dynamic leaders such as Ranjit Singh Fateh will strengthen the party in the Phagwara constituency. It will also attract youths towards AAP, ensuring the party’s victory in the municipal elections.”
Dr Chabbewal urged party members to work in unity, emphasising the importance of the elections for the state’s urban development.
The meeting saw participation from prominent leaders, including District Planning Board Chairman Lalit Saklani, AAP Punjab spokesperson Harnur Singh Mann, senior leaders Harmesh Pathak and Daljit Raju Darvesh, Improvement Trust, Phagwara, Chairman, Advocate Kashmir Singh Mally, Dr. Jatinder Singh Parhar (District Secretary, Doctor Cell), Santosh Kumar Gogi (president, SC Wing, District Kapurthala), and others.
