The Buddhist community in Jalandhar on Tuesday demanded that the Maha Bodhi Temple at Bodh Gaya in Bihar be brought directly under the control of a body headed exclusively by leaders from the community.

On the occasion of Constitution Day, the followers of Buddhism handed over a memorandum to DC Dr Himanshu Aggarwal to be forwarded to the President of India. They said that if the management committees of other religious bodies have representation of their own, the same principle should be followed in Buddhist shrines too.
