Thieves cut open ATM, flee with cash

Phagwara, July 6

Unidentified suspects cut open an ATM of the SBI with a gas cutter on the Palahi road here and fled away with the cash last night.

Confirming the incident, Kapurthala Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vatsala Gupta said after receiving information about the incident, Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, along with a police team, reached the spot.

The SSP said the police got information about the incident around 2:30 am. They did not receive any complaint from the bank till the filing of this report. However, the police have registered a case in this regard.

She said the police were scrutinising the footage of CCTV cameras to identify the suspects. The SSP assured that the suspects would be nabbed soon.
