Though the Union Government has announced ‘Ayushman Cards” for all 70+ senior citizens to avail free medical treatment till Rs 5 lakh, it could not be seen implemented in the Civil Hospital.

Senior Medical Officer Dr Lehimber Ram said due to few technical reasons, the scheme could not be implemented till now. It was learnt that no staff member of the hospital could operate computer due to software id.

SMO Ram said that the problem was sent to higher authorities.

Civil Surgeon Dr Richa Bhatia said that she was not aware about the problem being faced by the people visiting hospital Phagwara to get Ayushman Cards. CMO assured to initiate required steps soon to facilitate the senior citizens.
