Residents and businessmen in the Leather Complex area near Plot Number 411 here are grappling with severe hardships caused by an overflowing sewerage system, highlighting the negligence by the Municipal Corporation. The blockage has inundated roads, creating a chaotic situation for locals and commuters alike.

The overflowing sewage has turned the lanes into stagnant pools of dirty water, emitting a foul smell and making it nearly impossible for people to walk or drive through the area. The unsanitary conditions have turned the locality into a breeding ground for flies and mosquitoes, raising concerns about the spread of diseases.

Residents say that the life has become unbearable, with complaints made to the authorities yielding no response. Industrialists with factories in the area have already written to Municipal Corporation officials, urging them to resolve the issue promptly. Despite their repeated pleas, no action has been taken, leaving both businessmen and residents in a state of despair.

Local business owners are feeling the pinch as the stench and unhygienic conditions are deterring customers and disrupting daily operations. “The stagnant water and garbage are not only making it difficult for us to operate but also keeping customers away,” said a businessman.

The issue is compounded by the accumulation of garbage and polythene waste, which has remained unattended for days. “On the one side, the state government has been promising the state-of-the-art infrastructure, and, on the other hand, the MC had failed to manage the simple issues of overflowing sewage and waste management,” said an industrialist, making an appeal to the MC Commissioner to address the problem immediately and take effective steps to restore normalcy in the area.

Meanwhile, the situation has sparked widespread frustration among locals, who demand urgent intervention to resolve the crisis and prevent further deterioration of living and working conditions.
