Phillaur MLA visits villages to check flood preparedness

Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, MLA, along with administration officials and local people, visited areas near the Sutlej, covering Mau Sahib, Lasara and Kadiana villages on Tuesday. Anticipating heavy rainfall due to changing weather conditions, he engaged in a thorough discussion with administrative officials to address potential challenges during the floods.
Chaudhary emphasised the importance of safeguarding the dams and ensuring the safety of the surrounding villages.
During the visit, administrative officials highlighted the fact that ?18 lakh had been allocated and utilised under the Phagwara Drainage Sub-Division, Phillaur, for reinforcing the dams along the Sutlej. These preventive measures aim to mitigate the risk of flooding in the nearby areas.
Chaudhary assured the public that all flood prevention efforts had been successfully completed. He expressed confidence that farmers and residents of the villages near the river will not face any difficulties.
