Phagwara: A medical shop, Rohit Trader, on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road in Phagwara was reportedly burgled last night. Burglars entered the shop after cutting shutters and decamped with a cash of more than Rs 1 lakh, besides costly medicines being used in the agriculture sector. The burglars damaged CCTVs of the shop and took away DVR also. The police have registered a case. A loss of around Rs 8 lakh was being estimated.

Three booked for snatching

Phagwara: The police have booked three miscreants on the charge of snatching cash from a petrol pump salesman. Migrant Vinay Kumar, salesman at Bhagat Singh Indian Oil Petrol Pump, complained to the police that Lov Karan Singh and Gurmail Singh, both residents of Prigirri village, Tarn Taran, Karan Singh of Shere Baal village, Ludhiana, came to the pump on August 27 evening and snatched Rs 10,000 from him at gunpoint and fled. A case has been registered against them.

Two arrested under NDPS Act

Phagwara: The police have arrested a 'drug peddler' on the charge of selling poppy husk. Investigating Officer Gurnam Singh said 2 kg of poppy husk was seized from the possession of the accused Harjindar Singh, alias Jindi, a resident of Gahenna Bhundarri village in Ludhiana. The police have also arrested a woman Amarjit Kaur of Ganna Pind village and living at Shankar village and recovered 110 intoxicated tablets from her possession.

Two nabbed for snatching balis

Phagwara: The police have arrested two residents on the charge of snatching a woman's earrings. The accused have been identified as Baljindar, alias Amit, and Raghuveer, aias Raghu, both residents of Mohalla Shahpur, Mehatpur. Parwindar Kaur of Mehsampur village complained to the police that the accused snatched her earrings. A case has been registered against the accused and earrings were recovered from their possession.

One held for snatching bag

Phagwara: The police have arrested a person on the charge of snatching a mobile phone and certificates from a girl. Paramjit Singh of Aade Kali village had complained to the police that he was returning home from Jandiala village with his daughter Tannu on August 14 when Hussan Lal, alias Husna, of Pasla village snatched a bag from his daughter containing a mobile phone and certificates.

PO arrested in snatching case

Phagwara: The police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) absconding for the past many months. Investigating officer Rajindar Pal Singh said the accused had been identified as Vishal, alias Chucha, a resident of Mohalla Khurmpur, Mehatpur village. The accused was wanted in a case of snatching.
