An oath-taking ceremony for 3,100 elected panchayat members of Kapurthala district will be held tomorrow at the additional yard (Dana Mandi), JJ Farm, Kapurthala. Minister for Local Government Dr Ravjot Singh will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected members.

To review the preparations, DC Amit Kumar Panchal and SSP Vatsala Gupta visited the venue.

The DC said approximately 3,100 panchayat members would take oath while 546 sarpanches had already taken oaths during a state-level ceremony held in Ludhiana.

Gupta stated that adequate security, traffic and mobility arrangements had been put in place. Directions had been issued to ensure smooth conduct of the event.

The DC instructed the Civil Surgeon to deploy medical teams with staff at the venue. He also reviewed arrangements for tents, stage, pandals, and refreshments for the attendees.

The Panchayat Department was directed to install clear signs for smooth navigation to prevent inconvenience for participants.
