Aashiq, a resident Lafpuri in Punhana, district Mewat, Haryana, was also among those students. The students alleged that the college committee had misbehaved with the students and asked them to leave the college.

They said after this, Aashiq had left for his home. His father Mehboob came here yesterday and settled the issue. They alleged that despite this, Aashiq was again humiliated. Sohail said around 11 am, he went to his room and saw that Aashiq was lying down, he had vomited, his body had turned blue and was stinking.

He said they borrowed a motorcycle from someone and took him to the Civil Hospital, Garhshankar, but he died there. State secretary of the student union Baljeet Dharamkot alleged that even after five hours of the student’s death, no member of the management had reached the hospital, which proved how insensitive they were.

He said if no action was taken against the management, they would protest by keeping the student’s body in front of the college.

The college management committee chairman, Dr Jang Bahadur Singh Rai, didn’t respond to repeated calls over his mobile phone.
