In celebration of the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev, a Nagar Kirtan would be taken out in the city on November 12. Organised by the Managing Committee of Gurdwara Diwan Asthan and supported by various gurdwara committees, Singh Sabhas, service societies and community groups, the event is expected to attract large participation from across the region.

According to committee leaders, including President Mohan Singh Dhindsa, Surinder Singh Virdi and General Secretary Gurmeet Singh Bittu, the Nagar Kirtan will begin at 10 am from Gurdwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha in Mohalla Gobindgarh. The procession would follow a traditional route through the city, concluding at Gurdwara Diwan Asthan in the evening.

In a significant gesture, representatives from the management committee and Singh Sabhas have invited Baba Jeet Singh, head of Nirmal Kutia Johlan, to perform the esteemed palanquin and ‘chaur’ service for Shri Guru Granth Sahib during the procession. Baba Jeet Singh accepted the invitation and would lead the service alongside a large group of devotees from surrounding villages.
