MP meets arhtiyas ahead of paddy lifting

The work of lifting paddy will begin across the state tomorrow. Taking stock of preparations, MP Raj Kumar Chabbewal called a meeting of the arhtiyas of the distict to aprise them of the arrangements being made by the government to resolve any problems that may arise and to make sure lifting goes on smoothly. District Mandi Officer Gur Iqbal Singh, Mandi Secretary Vinod Sharma and Dana Mandi Arhtiya Association president Rohit Sood were also at the meeting. The MP said a draft had been prepared by the government to resolve the problems related to lifting with the commission agents. He promised there would be no shortage of gunny bags and the problems of farmers, landowners, commission agents and labourers would be solved promptly.
