Newly sworn-in Minister for Local Government, Sham Chaurasi MLA, Dr Ravjot Singh visited Nirmal Kutia at Seechewal on Wednesday.

The minster, after paying obeisance to Sri Guru Granth Sahib at Nirmal Kutia, was welcomed by RS MP and environmentalist Balbir Singh Seechewal.

Dr Ravjot Singh said the development of cities would be started from the land of Baba Nanak. He said starting from the development of Sultanpur Lodhi, where Guru Nanak Dev spent a long time of his life, the government would endeavour to change the pattern of the rest of the cities of Punjab.

Dr Ravjot, thanking AAP’s national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, said they had given the new responsibility by including him in the Cabinet. He would perform it with sincerity. He praised Seechewal for making the sacred Kali Bein, touched by Nanak’s feet, clean again.

Seechewal said he hoped that he would give priority to public welfare works.
