Man held in case of fake degree scam

The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, under the leadership of Commissioner Swapan Sharma, has apprehended another suspect linked to an interstate fake degree scam.

Commissioner Sharma said the police dismantled an interstate gang operating in this fraudulent scheme. He said the police had seized 196 counterfeit degrees from two previously arrested individuals, identified as Hardeep Singh and Jagdeep Singh. He said both men were arrested following an operation in which police raided a property in Jalandhar, leading to the discovery of the fake degrees.

An FIR was registered in connection to this case on September 28 at the Sadar Jalandhar police station, citing multiple offences under various sections of the BNS and the PTPR Act. The latest arrest involves a travel agent known as Sam alias Bharam Raj alias Sunny Gujral, a resident of Urban Estate Phase 1 in Jalandhar. Sam owns Gujral Consultants and Immigration Services, located at Bedi Paradise near the bus stand in Jalandhar. Notably, two additional cases are already pending against him in different police stations across the city.

Commissioner Sharma said further details were expected to be released as the investigation unfolded.
