President of the Bar Association, Phagwara, Karanjot Singh Jhikka, senior advocates Lalit Chopra, Vijay Sharma and Munish Sareen said, “Over the past several years, the Bar Association has been repeatedly submitting numerous representations and applications to the appropriate authorities. Despite our continuous efforts, there has been no meaningful response or action taken to address the concerns regarding the deteriorating condition of the existing court complex, which is not only obsolete, but also poses challenges for the Bar, litigants and the administration of justice.”

Jhikka said the failure to provide a new judicial complex and renovate the existing infrastructure has caused inconvenience to the members of the Bar and the public.

He said though the Bar Association has consistently followed up with the authorities, yet all representations have been ignored, leaving with no other option but to express strong discontent.

Jhikka expressed his hope that the protest will draw attention to the urgent need for the construction of a new judicial complex and the renovation of the existing court building.
