Labourer found murdered in room

A young labourer was found murdered in his rented room in village Khajurala on Saturday night. The body was found lying on the floor in his room locked from outside in a pool of blood.

Harinder Kumar, landlord, told the police that he had constructed a few rooms to give these on rent. Mohammad Munna, another tenant, came to him and said Abhimanyu Singh had not been seen since October 3. On Saturday, he smelt stench emanating from the room of the deceased locked from outside.

Munna said he immediately informed village sarpanch Ajay Kumar and the room was unlocked. They found the body of the deceased lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said the police had registered a case and sent the body to the local Civil Hospital for the post-mortem examination. No arrest has been made so far.
