JCT workers’ issue to be resolved soon: ADC

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Phagwara, Anupam Kaler has assured that the issue of pending salaries and dues of JCT Mill employees will be resolved soon.

During a meeting held with administrative officials today, she instructed that the matter be handled with utmost seriousness. Phagwara SDM Jashanjeet Singh mentioned that no representative from the mill management attended the meeting, which led to the decision to schedule another meeting next week.

Kaler said the dues of sugarcane farmers associated with the sugar mill, Phagwara, was also discussed. Cane inspector Paramjit Singh stated that the mill owners had assured that the pending payments would be cleared by the end of August. — OC
