Jalandhar: NCC camp held
Jalandhar: The NCC cadets of Cambridge International School attended an annual training camp at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara. The camp was held under the supervision of Col. Dipander Singh from the 8th Punjab NCC unit. A total of 600 students from different schools and colleges participated. Different types of activities were conducted in the camp such as drill, map reading, firing, cultural programme, dance and singing. Besides flag area programme, debate and poetry recitation was also organised. The camp also had some games such as volleyball, kho-kho, tug-of-war etc wherein Lohitaksh and Amanpreet Singh won the first prize. Gurman Singh stood first in kho-kho. Tania Puri won in 500m race. Lohitaksh, Jashanpreet and Arjun Singh bagged a silver medal in singing and dancing competition. Kashish Sharma got third position in flag area. Seepika Grover and Sargun Kaur got third position in Punjabi folk dance competition. Ayush Sharma stood third in conducting the stage. Principal Jorawar Singh congratulated the prize winners and other attendees of the camp upon their training.
Sports meet
The opening of the 53rd Regional Sports Meet for kabaddi U-14, U-17 boys category in Chandigarh was held at PM Shri KV No. 2, AFS, Adampur. A total of seven teams participated in it. The chief guest was the principal of the school, Punam Rani. A green plant was presented to the chief guest. The opening ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the reciting of a prayer to Goddess Saraswati. The oath was taken by the participants. Chief guest Punam Rani declared the meet open and blessed the participants to play in an energetic way and bring laurels to KVS, Chandigarh region.
Inter-house debate
CJS Public School organised an Inter-House Debate Contest for Classes VII and VIII under the guidance of Principal Dr Ravi Suta. The topic of the competition was ‘Education without values is incomplete’. The rules and regulations of the debate were explained, and speakers spoke for and against the topic. The students put forward their views confidently and had researched the topic quite well.
Guru Purnima celebrations
Ivy World Play School celebrated Guru Purnima under the guidance of Headmistress Shefali Sharma. The students joyfully celebrated, honouring dedicated teachers and fostering a sense of gratitude among the young students. The day began with a heartfelt assembly, where children expressed their appreciation through songs and prayers. Traditional rituals were observed, and teachers were presented with flowers as a token of respect. Engaging activities, including storytelling sessions and art projects, highlighted the significance of teachers in our lives. The celebration was a memorable event, instilling values of respect and gratitude in students, and strengthening the bond between teachers and pupils.
