CT Group of Institutions hosted the 67th Zonal NASA Convention in which 1,200 students took part in Jalandhar.

The 67th Zonal NASA Convention, hosted by CT Group, concluded after three days of intense activities, drawing over 1,200 architecture students from more than 50 schools from across North India. The event featured more than 50 competitions, two keynotes and two master classes, offering a platform for students to showcase their architectural creativity. Participants from institutions, such as Sushant School of Art and Architecture, Amity School of Architecture and Planning and Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), engaged in various workshops covering topics like parametric modelling and green planning. The keynote address by Charanjit Shah, known for his work on the Kartarpur Corridor, was a highlight of the event. The Interactive Art Pieces Trophy saw students create innovative designs from basic materials, while the Design-18 Challenge tested participants’ endurance with an 18-hour design marathon. Sushant School of Art and Architecture dominated the event, winning the overall trophy. Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women secured the journalism trophy, while several institutions, including Guru Nanak Dev University and Amity School of Architecture, received special mentions for their creative achievements.

Student shines in GDNU exams

Jalandhar: Tanisha Arora, a fourth-semester student of B.Voc Data Science at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, secured the first position in the final exams conducted by Guru Nanak Dev University by scoring 311/400 marks. Ekam secured the second position with 301 marks, while Aarush obtained the third position with 286 marks. Principal Dr Neerja Dhingra congratulated all three students, encouraging them to continue their hard work and maintain their positions in the upcoming semesters as well. She appreciated the efforts of Meera Aggarwal, head, mathematics department, and Harpreet Kaur of the computer science department, for guiding and motivating these meritorious students. She encouraged them to keep mentoring students in the future so they can continue to achieve new heights.

B Com students bring laurels

Jalandhar: Students of B Com Sem-IV (Hons.) of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, brought laurels to the institution by holding the first and second university positions in the university Exams. Isha topped the university by scoring 84 out of 100 marks. Shamli Sharma, Muskan and Kashish secured the second position with 80 marks. Principal Ajay Sareen congratulated the head of department Meenu Kohli, faculty members and students on this achievement. On the occasion, Binoo Gupta, Dr Seema Khanna, Dr Kajal Puri and Shefali Kashyap were also present.

Lecture on Innovation to start-ups

Jalandhar: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at LKCTC organized a guest lecture on ‘Innovation to Start-ups: A Journey’ for its students, focusing on Industry 5.0 and its relevance to emerging mechanical engineers. Dr Gurraj Singh, assistant professor at NIT, Jalandhar, was the guest speaker, offering insights into manufacturing processes and the integration of AI with mechanical systems. He discussed the differences between Industry 4.0 and 5.0 and emphasized the importance of Python, simulation and CAD software for securing positions in multinational companies. The lecture was attended by students from B.Tech ME, B.Voc and B.Tech CE, who appreciated the valuable insights shared. Dr Gurraj Singh was warmly welcomed by the HoD, who presented a token of gratitude. Directors Sukhbir Singh Chatha and Dr RS Deol praised the department for organizing the session, guiding students toward new opportunities in the industry.

Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan

Jalandhar: Shiv Jyoti Public School achieved an outstanding milestone at the Wushu District Trial under Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan 2024, held recently at the Indoor Stadium PAP. Under the expert guidance of the school’s Physical Education Department and leadership of Principal Parveen Saili, two students, Dariti of Class VIII (-52) and Jaivik of Class V (-30), both in the under-14 category, participated in the trial and secured 1st positions in their respective weight classes. Their success earned them selection for the state-level competition. The school’s management, including Dr Vidur Jyoti (Chairman, Trust), Dr Suvikram Jyoti (Chairman-cum-Manager, managing committee and general secretary of the Trust), Principal Parveen Saili, vice-principal Ramandeep applauded the hard work and determination of the students. They also congratulated the proud parents for their children’s remarkable achievement.

Legacy Run

Jalandhar: MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar, celebrated its 50th anniversary with a grand legacy run, organised in collaboration with the Old Montgomerians Association on Monday. The event, filled with energy and enthusiasm, brought together students, staff and guests to celebrate the school's rich history. The run saw the participation of key figures from the MGN Educational Trust, including its chairman Major Charanjit Singh Rai and secretary Mukhtar Singh Dahiya. Members of the school's managing committee along with principals and staff from various MGN institutions, were also in attendance. Chief guest Pargat Singh, MLA, Jalandhar Cantt, was joined by guests of honour Dr Raman Arora from CareBest Super Speciality Hospital and Dr Jammu of Jammu Hospital. They were welcomed by the school with planters and mementos. The event also saw active participation from members of the Old Montgomerians Association, including Rajkaran Singh, Hardeep Singh, Dr Paramdeep Singh Walia and Amarjot Singh.
