Various mandis witnessed less arrival of paddy in the city on Tuesday. It was almost nil at the grain market on the first day of procurement and the hustle bustle of farmers was also missing.

Officials from the Mandi Board said that actual arrival starts from October 8-9, but the announcement of strike by the arhtiyas and labourers is the reason behind less arrival.

The labourers were seen sitting and lying on sacks of paddy.
