In-laws booked for dowry

Phagwara: On a complaint lodged by Chandni, the police have registered a case against her husband Rohit Sharma, his mother Minakshi and brother Rahul of New Sukhchain Nagar, Phagwara, on the charges of torturing the complainant physically and mentally for more dowry. No arrest has been made so far.

Youth booked for kidnapping

Phagwara: The police have booked a youth on the charge of kidnapping a minor. Baljit Kaur of Ennowal village complained to the police that the accused kidnapped her minor daughter. A case has been registered against him and further investigation is on.

Villager booked for crop fire

Phagwara: The police have booked a villager for burning paddy stubble. The accused has been identified as Jaspreet Singh of Chak Bahmannia Khurd village. Jasbir Singh, agricultural officer, Shahkot, complained to the police that the accused had set afire paddy stubble and polluted atmosphere. A case has been registered against the accused.
