In Brief: Man arrested for rash driving
Shahkot: The Shahkot police have arrested a Jalandhar resident for rash driving and causing grievous hurt. The accused had been identified as Parwinder Singh, a resident of FCI colony, Jalandhar. Jagtar Singh, a resident of Jaffarwal village, had complained to the police that the accused was driving his vehicle fast and negligently on September 9 that hit his brother Lal Chand, injuring him seriously. A case has been registered against the accused. A case under Sections 281 (rash driving on the public highway), 125(a), 125(b) (causing grievous hurt), and 324(4) (mischief) of the BNS was registered against the accused.
Migrant killed in accident
Phagwara: One migrant youth was killed when a speeding bike hit him near Nanak Nagri Chiherru on Saturday night. The deceased Sanjay Rishi was walking towards his job place when the bike hit him.The police have registered a case and arrested bike driver Anish Raj residing in Miherru. The body of the deceased has been sent to the local Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Villager held for cheating
Shahkot: The Shahkot police have arrested a Ferozepur villager on the charge of cheating and forgery. The accused had been identified as Ranjit Singh of Hamad village in Ferozepur. The accused had fixed a fake temporary number (CH-RT-4417) on a car. A case has been registered against the accused.
Youth dies in accident
Hoshiarpur: A youth died in a road accident on the Hoshiarpur-Dasuya road. The police have registered a case. Rahul of village Dadiyana told the police that Sandeep Kumar of his village was returning from his work. When her reached near Adda Nai Bassi, a vehicle hit him. Sandeep was seriously injured and later died.
Theft accused arrested
Hoshiarpur: The police have arrested an accused on the charge of stealing gold ornaments and cash from a house. Kulwant Kaur, wife of Paramjit Singh, a resident of village Balala has told the police that Karamjit Badhan of village Ambala Jattan, used to visit her frequently. Once she had gone to Garhdiwala to get medicine. In her absence, the accused allegedly stole gold ornaments and Rs 60,000 from her house. The police have arrested the accused.
