Health teams conduct checks at sweet shops in Hoshiarpur

As part of continuous checking of food items at different places, District Health Officer Dr Jatinder Bhatia and Food Safety Officer Munish Sodhi inspected sweet shops in Garhdiwala and Dasuya.

A similar inspection was carried out by Food Safety Officer Avinav Khosla in Garhshankar and Food Safety Officer Vivek Kumar in Hoshiarpur city.

During this, as many as 10 samples of various sweets and khoya were collected and sent to the test lab in Kharar.

Appropriate legal action will be taken against these shops after the report of the samples is received by the Health Department.

Dr Bhatia said that keeping the festive season in mind, continuous checking is being done by various teams. No one would be allowed to play with the health of the people, said the District Health Officer.

He appealed to the people to contribute to the Health Department campaign against adulterators so that proper and quality food can be made available to the people.
