Harchowal, Rup Nagar, Nikke Ghuman register win at Round Glass hockey championship

Teams from Harchowal, Rup Nagar and Nikke Ghuman secured victories and three points each in the Third Round Glass Inter Development Centre Hockey Tournament on Monday. Four league matches were played at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, with Baba Bakala and Chachrari teams drawing 2-2.

In the first match, Harchowal defeated Malerkotla 3-1 in Pool C. Ravinder Singh scored twice for Harchowal in the 26th and 38th minutes, while Sandeep added a third goal in the 44th minute. Manrajdeep Singh scored for Malerkotla in the 41st minute. Rajwinder Singh of Harchowal was named the player of the match.

The second match saw Round Glass Rup Nagar triumph 2-0 over Round Glass Sansarpur in Pool D. Sangat Singh and Jaspreet Singh netted goals in the 37th and 59th minutes, respectively. Gursewak Singh of Rup Nagar was declared the player of the match.

The third match ended in a 2-2 draw between teams from Baba Bakala and Chachrari in Pool C. Baba Bakala led 2-0 with goals from Arshdeep Singh in the 5th minute and Chanchal Singh in the 27th minute. Chachrari fought back with goals from Ankit in the 40th minute and Simrandeep Singh in the 54th minute to level the score. Shamsher Singh of Baba Bakala was named the player of the match.

In the final match, Round Glass Nikke Ghuman defeated Round Glass Kila Raipur 6-1 in Pool D. Nikke Ghuman dominated with goals from Arshpreet Singh (24th minute), Lovepreet Singh (32nd and 36th minutes), and Jaspreet Singh (48th minute), while Kila Raipur’s lone goal came from Ashi Kumar in the 53rd minute. Krishan Kumar of Kila Raipur was named the player of the match.
