Former BJP Rajya Sabha MP Avinash Rai Khanna paid a courtesy call on Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and discussed the current situation in Punjab with him. Khanna said that the ‘weak’ Aam Aadmi Party government led by Bhagwant Mann in Punjab had a loose grip on the law and order situation in the state, due to which the same was on the verge of complete breakdown.

He said that ever since the Aam Aadmi Party had taken the reins of Punjab in its hands, criminal elements had increased their activities without any fear of law. As soon as AAP came to power in the state, there had been an increase in firing, extortion, drug smuggling and other major criminal activities, he further said.

Khanna said that the deteriorating situation in the state seemed to indicate that ‘jungle raj’ had been established in the state. Khanna urged the Governor to personally intervene for improving the law and order situation.
