Gang of snatchers busted; 2 juveniles held

The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has busted a gang responsible for multiple snatching and robbery incidents. Three individuals, including two juveniles, were arrested and recovered motorcycles, mobile phones and weapons.

According to Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma, the arrests were made after the police received a tip-off about a gang’s movement near village Pholriwal.

The informer revealed that the group was planning a major crime near the South City area. The police swiftly apprehended the suspects.

The arrested individuals included two juveniles and the third person has been identified as Saurav, alias Sonu, from Alipur.

The police confiscated two motorcycles, five mobile phones, a datar (sharp weapon) and a khanda from the suspects.

An FIR under Sections 304(2) and 317(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sadar, Jalandhar, in connection with the case.

Commissioner Sharma stated that no prior criminal records had been found for the accused so far, but further investigations were ongoing.

He emphasised the Jalandhar police’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against crime, ensuring the safety and security of the city’s residents.
