Jalandhar: A film poster making competition was organised by Department of Design and Fine Arts and HMV Alumnae Welfare Association of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya in collaboration with Beenu Rajpoot Films. Principal Prof Dr Ajay Sareen said the theme of the competition was “Kalakosa”, “The Master of Various Arts”. Sanskrit language in which the soul of Indian culture resides Film “Kalakosa”, “The Master of Various Arts” is based on a man named Rishiraj Pathak who is preserving the Indian Sanskrit literature from a very young age. He is the Master of Vedas specially Saamved, Natyashastra, Sangeetratnakar, Raasgangadhar. Number of students participated in the event and showed their creativity and talent. Wonderful posters were created and these were selected by Beenu Rajpoot Films. Prize Distribution Ceremony was done in the presence of Principal Prof Ajay Sareen and with the words of appreciation for the students. In beautiful composition category Jaspreet Kaur got first, Sheena got second and Priya Gill got the third prize. In most creative poster category, Jasneet Kaur got first, Yangchan got second and Teena got third prize. Judgement was done by Beenu Rajpoot Films and medals and certificates were given to the winners and participation certificates were given to all the participants. Appreciation Certificates are given to faculty members for contribution in the event by Beenu Rajpoot Films. On this occasion, Dr Rakhi Mehta, Dr Neeru Bharti Sharma and other faculty members were also present.

Student Mentoring Programme at KMV

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organised Anubhuti, a student-student mentoring programme. This programme was organised by Post Graduate Department of Botany. In this programme, B.Sc. (Medical) Semester 3rd and 5th students who have completed B.Sc. (Medical) shared their research experiences with the students of Sem-i. More than 55 students, were divided into seven teams. The senior girls of each team taught their juniors about various topics related to botany namely ‘Establishment of Kitchen Garden’, ‘Phonology of Citrus Plants’, ‘Natural and Artificial Plant Propagation’, ‘Study of Shapes and Canopies of Various Plants’, ‘Identification and Collection of Ethnomedical Plants’. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that organising such activities fills the students with confidence and also proves to be a source of inspiration for them. Principal lauded the efforts made by the Botany Department for organising the event and motivating the students to pursue research work in various concepts of science.

World Social Justice Day observed

DIPS College of Education observed World Social Justice Day to apprise the students about social justice. Therefore a career counselling programme in this direction was organised students were enlightened on the various exams to be cleared by them whereupon clearing the exams and preparing a resume and appear in interviews. Teachers highlighted that students interested in social work can easily build up their career too in the same field. There is no need of a degree for social work but it is of utmost importance to know about social, economic, and family conditions so that knowledge of home science, psychology, sociology or social science can be attained by doing a mater in these subjects. Principal Dr Jyotigupta remarked that in the world there are many differenced among the people due to which people encounter various problems. Keeping in mind, all these problems every year world social justice day is organised to remind people to keep fighting against discrimination in all forms and focus on issues including human rights, gender, equality, poverty, unemployment and social protection.

police dav lad bags NTSE scholarship

Mayank Kumar of Police DAV Public School has bagged NTSE scholarship on qualifying stage two of the examination. The examination was held in October. Dr Rashmi Vij, Principal, congratulated Mayank, his mentor Sunita Pardesi, and Supervisory Head of the Wing Cinni Malhotra.
