Door-to-Door survey under anti-dengue campaign
Under the leadership of Dr Jagdeep Singh, District Epidemiologist, various activities were organised on the second day of the anti-dengue ‘mega campaign’ in the district. Anti-larvae teams, breeding checkers and nursing students conducted door-to-door surveys, inspecting homes for larvae.
Dr Jagdeep Singh explained that nursing students had joined different survey teams to raise awareness about dengue prevention. A total of 10 anti-larvae teams, in collaboration with nursing college students, carried out activities in Hoshiarpur city. These teams visited various neighbourhoods, checking containers for mosquito larvae and removing any stagnant water. They also used larvicide sprays and took other preventive measures to control mosquito breeding.
In addition to the door-to-door surveys, the teams visited schools, showing students examples of mosquito larvae and educating them on prevention. Similar activities were carried out in both urban and rural areas across the district. Dr Singh emphasised that public cooperation is crucial for the success of the campaign and for preventing the spread of dengue. — OC
