Direct contest between Independents, AAP in two Phagwara wards

Can a voter believe that the Congress, BJP, Akali Dal, and BSP will support any Independent candidate even in the elections of the Municipal Corporation, Phagwara?

During the ongoing elections in wards 12 and 13 of Phagwara, none of these four political parties have fielded any of their candidate against Davinder Sapra and his wife Rupali Sapra, who are contesting the MC elections as Independents.

Though a total of 218 candidates are now in the poll fray for 50 wards of Phagwara MC and a contest is being witnessed in most of the wards between the Congress, BSP, SAD, BJP and AAP, a direct battle is being witnessed between the AAP and couple in wards 12 and 13 as none of the Congress, BSP, SAD, BJP, are contesting the polls.

Davinder Sapra is contesting against AAP candidate Seema Rana in Ward 12 while his wife Rupali Sapra is fighting against party candidate Raghbir Kaur in Ward 13.

The Congress, BSP, SAD and BJP are not contesting from these two wards, thus the Sapra couple has a direct contest with the AAP.
