DGP Gaurav Yadav visited Jalandhar on Tuesday to hold a high-level meeting with senior officers and review the law and order situation in the region.

During the meeting, the DGP interacted with key officials, including Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, Swapan Sharma, DIG Naveen Singla, SSP Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh, SSP, Hoshiarpur, Surendra Lamba, SSP, Kapurthala, Gaurav Toora and other gazetted officers and SHOs.

The DGP also participated in a brainstorming session with officers at the cutting-edge level, where various crime-solving techniques and experiences from different police stations were shared. The model adopted by the Aur Police Station in SBS Nagar to combat drug trafficking with public cooperation was discussed.

Additionally, effective measures implemented across districts such as crime mapping in Jalandhar, the use of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections for organised crime in Hoshiarpur and focused policing in Jalandhar Rural were highlighted. The session underscored the use of technology, extensive CCTVs and other tools to enhance policing efficiency in the region.

The DGP applauded the initiatives and urged officers to intensify efforts to ensure public safety and effective crime control across Jalandhar and nearby districts.
