Kickstarting the process of procurement of paddy at the Nawanshahr Mandi today, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Dhiman assured farmers and commission agents of a smooth and seamless purchasing experience across the district’s mandis.

Urging farmers to bring dry paddy to the mandis, he promised them that the district administration would not let them face any kind of inconvenience.

The DC said as per the commitment of the Punjab Government, each and every grain of the crop that is brought to the mandis would be procured by the agencies concerned, without any hiccups, provided the farmers took care of the moisture content in their crops. He added that all arrangements, including payment, lifting and transportation were in place and SDMs had been asked to be in touch with procurement agencies in their respective areas to continue uninterrupted procurement.
