The worsening condition of the road near the city railway station’s parcel office has become a major concern for passengers and daily commuters.

A large patch of the road, lying broken for months, has not only made commuting difficult but also led to persistent traffic congestion. This stretch, serving as the main entrance to the station from the Damoria flyover side, witnesses heavy traffic throughout the day.

Adding to the chaos, the road also accommodates vehicles loading and unloading goods at the station’s parcel office, further clogging the already congested area. Daily commuters have expressed their frustration over the lack of action from authorities despite multiple complaints.

“This road has been broken for months, and it’s a major safety risk. The congestion here wastes so much of our time,” said Anil, a commuter. Another commuter, Manoj Singh, added, “We often have to take alternative routes, which are longer and inconvenient, just to avoid the mess.”

The absence of traffic police to regulate the flow has worsened the situation, with haphazard parking and mismanagement causing frequent jams. Commuters are demanding immediate deployment of traffic personnel to ease the congestion. “The lack of management makes it unsafe, and there’s always a risk of accidents,” another commuter complained.

Meanwhile, local businesses, especially food stalls in the area, have also borne the brunt of the traffic chaos. Stall owners say the congestion and noise have driven away customers, significantly affecting their livelihoods.

In response to the complaints, officials from the Municipal Corporation said that the issue would soon be addressed. “Road repair work is already underway across the city. This specific stretch is included in our plan, and repairs will be completed within next two weeks”, they added.
