Cultural group hosts pre-Diwali event
The AGI Art Music and Cultural Group brought festive cheer to the city with a spirited pre-Diwali celebration that attracted hundreds of residents from AGI’s residential communities. The event celebrated Diwali’s essence of joy and togetherness, creating an engaging platform for neighbours to connect.
The evening opened with warm welcomes from group secretary Surinder Bhambri, who highlighted how such events fostered harmony and brotherhood among residents. Attendees enjoyed live music performances, including a special appearance by AGI Infra Ltd chief administrator Major General Arun Khanna (retd), who entertained guests with his couplets and singing.
Adding to the evening’s excitement was a lively round of tambola, where luxurious prizes, including a refrigerator and television were up for the grabs. Ninety-three-year-old resident and educationist SK Mehra led the first round, while financial consultant Maninder Singh conducted the second round.
Chief Guest and AGI Infra chairperson Salwinderjit Kaur presented prizes to the winners and distinguished guests, including Tarsem Singh Laali, Aditi Hans and SV Hans, who were honoured for their contributions to the community. The event concluded with an engaging performances from Isha Singh and General LS Vohra (retd), who left the crowd in high spirits.
