Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was the chief guest at the afternoon session on the fourth day of the Punjab University Inter-Zonal Youth Festival, held at DAV College, Hoshiarpur. During the event, he distributed prizes to the winners and encouraged all the participants.

In his address, Mann spoke about how the stage of such youth festivals nurtures future artists, theatre professionals and individuals from various fields. He reflected on his own experience, saying that he, too, was shaped by such events. As he shared memories of his student life, Mann got the audience to dance along to his tunes, creating an energetic atmosphere.

Mann, recalling his college days, spoke about his performances on various stages with Karamjit Anmol and the awards they won together. He emphasised the most important aspect is not who won or lost but who had the courage to take the stage and showcase their talent. He urged students to focus on mastering skills beyond academics, stressing it is through one’s abilities and talents they gain recognition and respect. “Your worth is not defined by your existence alone, but by what you prove you are capable of,” he said.

At the event, Mann and Karamjit Anmol also performed Sant Ram Udaasi’s poem ‘Maghda Rahi Ve Suraj Kammiyaan De Vehde,’ which they had often sung together during their student days. The crowd responded with loud applause.

The event featured vibrant presentations of traditional songs, folk dances and more, with the energy of the performances encouraging the audience to join in the celebrations.
